Denise Watson has practiced law in northeast Florida since 1979. She began her career working as a prosecutor under State Attorney Ed Austin. She quickly moved up the ranks, ultimately becoming a homicide and sex crimes prosecutor, the most difficult cases to prosecute. Denise spent eight years as a prosecutor, trying hundreds of cases, before entering private practice. She has been practicing family law exclusively since 1987.
An Emory University and University of Georgia School of Law graduate, Denise is proud to be a “Bulldog” for her clients. During her three decades of family law practice, Denise has tried hundreds of cases and is experienced in all areas of family law litigation, including divorce, paternity, child support, alimony, custody, and modification cases. She regularly tries cases throughout Northeast Florida and has practiced before judges in Duval, Clay, Nassau, St. Johns and Baker counties.
Denise is widely regarded by former clients and her peers as one of the preeminent family law attorneys in Jacksonville. She has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, one of the foremost attorney rating systems. An active member of the Florida Family Law Inn of Court, Denise served as president from 2013-2015 and was awarded the prestigious Rudy Hernandez Professionalism Award in 2009. She is a member of the Florida Bar, the Georgia Bar, a master in the Florida Family Law Inn of Court, and has served on various boards and committees throughout the community.
In her spare time, Denise enjoys travelling and hiking with her Husband and adventurous dog, Belle. She is also an avid reader, puzzle enthusiast, and can name all fifty states in under 30 seconds.« Back to Attorneys Page
